The heavy duty shredder is a skid mounted unit with twin shafts, driven by an electric motor with a gearbox. The shredder cuts the dry waste into small pieces to reduce its storage volume and to optimise the size of the waste for feeding into the incinerator.
The unit is fitted with an anti-blocking system, which reverses the motion of the rotor blades and cuts power to the electric motor using a thermal cut-out in case of overloading.
A control panel is mounted on the shredder body. It features automated systems for the main functions, safety devices and a programming system. The unit is interfaced in such a way that it stops automatically in case the high level switch or smoke detector is activated in the garbage silo.
